How to install Cloud 9 on raspberry pi

If node.js is not install start by install it.

$sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade
$sudo apt-get -y install build-essential openssl libssl-dev pkg-config

$export NODE_PATH="/usr/local/lib/node_modules"

$cd ~
$git clone
$cd node-libxml
$git checkout v0.0.7
$git submodule init
$git submodule update
npm cache add ~/node-libxml/

$nano support/o3/wscript
remove -msse2

$sudo npm install -g sm
$sudo chown -Rf 1000:1000 /usr/local/lib/node_modules/sm

$cd ~
$git clone cloud9
$cd cloud9
$cd ~/cloud9
$sm install

All steps took about 60-90 min.

How to install node.js on raspberry pi using pre-build binaries

Start by get the url to the pre-build binaris you want to instal. The latest version can be found at click "Other release files" and get the url packages named node-v0.8.xx-linux-arm-pi.tar.gz

ssh in to the raspberry pi or open the terminal if using desktop


$cd /usr/local
$sudo tar xzvf ~/node-v0.8.20-linux-arm-pi.tar.gz --strip=1
